Boom boom get jiggy with it

We were commissioned by a nearby business to perform an interior scan of a camper van conversion to create customised speaker pods. The design of these pods required us to ensure that various speaker models could fit inside without affecting the sound quality. This task led us to delve into extensive research on speakers, which proved to be quite fascinating.

After talking at length with the customer about the types of speakers the pods need to accommodate and the position of the pods, we ultimately decided to keep the inner surface of the pod as spherical as possible, aimed to reduce diffraction and maintain sound quality. As an added feature we sent the customer a vented and none vented version.

As the customer intended to 3D print these pods, we provided them with the native 3D CAD files as well as high definition .STL files ready for printing. The prints came out fantastic and they fit perfectly into their intended place. As for the sound quality, the customer and us at AJ-3D couldn't have been happier. The sound was crisp and well-balanced and has made a fantastic new addition to their business.

We are due to start new projects with this company in the coming weeks and are very much looking forward to working with them again.
